What you need to know: Mutant X is based in a parallel universe, where the Six (Havok, Bloodstorm, the Brute, Iceman, Gambit and Captain America) led by Havok, have achieved Xavier's dream of peaceful co-existence between mutants and humans.  After being trapped in an explosion, Havok's consciousness was transferred into the body of the Mutant X Havok.  He finds himself surrounded by familiar names, but the faces are very different.
Summary of the storyline: This storyline deals with the Professor X of the Mutant X world, along with many of the "villains" of the Marvel Universe, who are actually good guys here.  It basically ends up in a slightly different version of the Onslaught saga, but without the far-reaching effects.
Scott's Say:  While this title started off with a bang, it has lost its direction in recent issues.  Its stories have become nothing more than rehashes of stories that have come before, such as the Inferno Saga and Onslaught, only without the impact of the originals.  Partly due to the fact that we've seen it before, and partly due to the fact that the characters, while potentially more interesting, aren't focused on enough to get to know them.  The only reason I continue to buy this title is due to the upcoming "decision" by Havok to stay in the Mutant X world or return to the regular Marvel Universe.
