Mutant Powers:  Psylocke possesses telepathic powers, enabling her to read minds, communicate telepathically, mentally "stun" others, control minds and create illusions within others minds.  She can also focus her telepathy into a "psychic knife" which she can use to stun or kill others.
    After her exposure to the Crimson Dawn, Betsy has also developed the ability to teleport through shadows.
History:  Betsy's father was once a denizen of Otherworld, and as a result, both she and her brother Brian inherited superhuman powers.  He lived in the United Kingdom where he met Betsy's mother Elizabeth and together they had three children.  Both Betsy's parents were killed in an explosion in her father's laboratory.
    Brian went on to become the costumed super hero Captain Britain, while Betsy developed telepathc powers, which she used in the service of S.T.R.I.K.E., a British division of S.H.I.E.L.D.  She also fostered a successful career as a fashion model.
   Members of a British government agency known as R.C.X. tried to recruit Captain Britain, but refusing to be exploited, he chose to give up the role of Captain Britain.  The R.C.X. agents then persuaded Betsy to become Captain Britain and work for them.  Betsy acquired a suit that amplified her strength nd allowed her to fly, and she began training with Captain UK, and the two became partners in cimefighting.
    Betsy soon went solo as Captain Britain, but her career was shortlived.  She fought two of the original Captain Britain's foes Vixen and Slaymaster.  Slaymaster was wearing a suit that increased his own strength, and savagely beat Betsy close to death and blinding her.  Her psychic cries of pain reached her brother Brian, who rushed to her aid, killing Slaymaster.
    Betsy went to Switzerland to recover, but was captured by Mojo, who took contol of her and gave her new artificial eyes.  She was rescued by the New Mutants, and chose to remain at their base, which was also the home of the X-Men.  She later proved herself to the X-Men when she resisted an attack by Sabretooth when he broke into the base.  She was accepted as a member of the X-Men, once again beginning a career as a costumed super hero under the name of Psylocke.
    She was captured by crimelord Matsu'o Tsurayaba, who was attempting to save the life of his lover, the assassin Kwannon.  He supervised a process in which the two women would have their minds swapped.  However, the two women's mids melded together, sharing the abilities of both between them.  Tsurayaba brainwashed Psylocke, and turned her over to the Mandarin, who she served taking on the name Lady Mandarin.  She eventually regained her free wll and returned to the X-Men.
    Kwannon, in Psylocke's body, became an ally to the X-Men under than name Revanche.  This resulted in much confusion as to who was the "real" Psylocke.  Eventually, Revanche learned  that she was dying of the Legacy Virus, and had Tsurayaba kill her.
    Recently, Psylocke and fellow X-Men Angel fell in love, and have remained together since.
    Psylocke was almost killed when Sabretooth escaped from the mansion, and was only saved by being exposed to themagical substance - the Crimson Dawn, which also gave her access to new powers, including teleportation through shadows.  However this did not come without a price, and Kuragari, Keeper of the Cromson Dawn, tried to force Betsy to become his bride.  Luckily, with the help of Angel, Psylocke was able to defeat Kuragari.
    In a  battle with the Shadow King, Psylocke trapped him with her psychic powers, and was unable to use her powers for some time for fear of releasing him into the world.  However she was forced to use them in order to track down Wolverine, which again freed the Shadow King.
    She has recently had alterations to her powers, gaining the ability of telekinesis.  However she has not yet mastered this new power.
